Schema Markup Validator
Check JSON-LD structured data or a page's HTML for missing required properties and format errors, following Google's rich result rules.
Paste the JSON-LD from a page, or its full HTML source, and the validator checks every structured-data block it finds. It reports errors that stop a page from being eligible for Google's rich results, such as a product without an offer, review or rating, an event without a start date or location, or a job posting without a hiring organisation, and warnings for recommended properties that are missing.
It also checks the values: ISO 8601 dates and durations, absolute URLs, three-letter currency codes, prices without symbols, rating values within their scale, valid availability and event status values, end dates after start dates and breadcrumb positions in order. Blocks inside @graph and nested objects such as authors, offers, addresses and reviews are checked too. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use Schema Markup Validator
- Open the page in your browser and view its source (Ctrl+U), or copy its JSON-LD.
- Paste it here.
- Read the errors and warnings for each item.
- Fix them, then confirm with Google's Rich Results Test.
Errors and warnings
Errors are problems that make the markup invalid for a rich result: a missing required property, a value in the wrong format, or a contradiction such as an end date before the start. Fix every error. Warnings point to recommended properties that are missing; the markup still works, but adding them, for example an image, dateModified or a price valid-until date, gives search engines more to show and can make the result more attractive.
The rules follow Google's structured data documentation for each type. Other consumers such as Bing, social networks and AI assistants read the same schema.org vocabulary, so clean markup helps everywhere.
Common problems found
The most frequent errors are dates written like 17/10/2026, prices such as ₹1,499 with a symbol and comma, image addresses starting with / instead of https://, ratings above five, availability written as In stock instead of https://schema.org/InStock, and plugins that output two conflicting Product blocks on the same page. Pasting the whole page source shows all blocks together, so duplicates and conflicting values from different plugins or themes are easy to spot and remove.
Frequently asked questions
How do I validate schema markup?
Paste the page's HTML source or the JSON-LD block here. Each item is listed with its errors and warnings.
Does it check microdata or RDFa?
No, only JSON-LD, which is the format Google recommends and most sites use.
Can it fetch a URL?
No. Open the page, view its source with Ctrl+U and paste it here; nothing is fetched or sent.
Is this the same as Google's Rich Results Test?
It applies the same documented rules for common types and checks formats, but Google's test is the final word for Google Search.
